Afterwinds (A post-apoc 6mm skirmish)

There are vast dry lands filled with settlements separated from each other with dust and dangers, there is a radioactive mega city in the West, mutants are getting more and more crowded and they are about to choose a leader for themselves. In the East, a far more crowded and brutal army is gathering, their aim is to advance west and conquer the world again. While all this was happening, those living in dry lands were fighting among themselves, doing business, and they were just starting to communicate with mountain people living in the north behind the mountains. As we descended to the south, the soil was getting dry and becoming desert.

My project is gathering miniatures from various companies mostly from “Microworld Games” and creating the world around them with Iliada Game Studio buildings(that’s me) and to play an alternative version of  Nordic Weasel Games’ Squad Hammer Core.

So I have created two pre-order sets to raise some funds for this project.

For now there is only 1 set available from both waves, wave2   wave1  

And I have plans to expand the Afterwinds with different factions and buildings.

Me and my friend group playing and testing the rules and having real good time.

-An abondoned ship in desert

-Thunderdome-ish structure

-Pig farm (waiting pigs from “Perfect Six”)

-Radio tower

What else can be ? did you like my project ? As soon as miniatures arrives from Microworld my gaming group will make battle reports. Before that you’ll find here tutorials working with lasercut cardstock buildings and new terrain pieces to purchase.

Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence!

The Road is a great movie, though I need a few years between each watch to re-charge.
Not sure it has the elevated highway though.

This is an incredible idea. These and interlocking surface streets would be a huge winner on all levels! One of the most annoying things is roads that slip and slide apart.

There are many locations in Afterwinds, one of them is Industria. A pre-Disaster settlement a factory city. Looks like still active . Would you bring your family ? Does it look safe ? I’ve done some advertisement for that settlement.

My goal this year is to get more games in and do less painting and terrain building. Stop making that more difficult. This is outstanding stuff and is likely going to feature heavily in my birthday shopping.

Today I’ve come to my workshop and think “hmm what can I do today ?” Yesterday I’ve cut a water tower and I wanted to work for it. If this is a post-apoc world so water needs to be something to protect.

I’ve done this quickly about 30 minutes. It was easy and fun then I wanted to do same for my wind powered water pump

But this time it’s better to make photos. So this is kind of tutorial thing.

 

It’s all about the rythm baby 🙂

You can use left over parts, nothing goes to garbage!

Next time I will be painted them 🙂

As soon as those new title came to me I wanted to use the “pigs” first.

I use one of the Industrial Depot Set structure as the main building then I add one of the Seraphine Tower  . And I added more bits 🙂 And I used rubber band for cable job.

Looked up the series on Wiki and sounds great. Yet another concept for a game environment which will take my attention but never reach the table using up countless hours and if I buy the series on video still more hours! Thanks mike (less sarcastically).

The show was great. Until the end where they knew they were being cancelled so they wrote a terrible hasty end.

  indeed, it was a GREAT show.  It being a video game tickles the memory, but I don’t recall seeing it at all.  Was it a mobile game?

I thought it was the other way round? There was an MMO released and a TV show to go with it. I thought the TV show events would be influenced by what was going on in the game. But the world wasn’t ready for it!

  Now that sounds even more familiar.  Though I think it was a show, and someone did the MMO later that would then influence the show.  That last season did suddenly end all abrupt and kind of meh.  Wish they had kept it going, it was way better than most of the scifi shows at that time.

They don’t warp, I use standard spray  can paints and airbrush. I guess it’s the material I use.
