I pulled them off the stems, trimmed some nubs and hot glued them to small coins. Then gave them a coat of diluted PVA because they were shedding.

They’re Floral Garden brand “Pom Poms x6.” Apparently Floral Garden is a big manufacturer of fake flowers in China, so they’re probably available in most dollar store or pound shop type places. I got mine at Dollar Tree.

15mm sci-fi guys and matchbox MRAP for scale.

Nice. Weird enough to look different, but not so weird that it looks ridiculously unrealistic.

Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let's go kill them!

I am not a big fan of shiny plants as many cheap aquarium plants seem to be, but the reddish ones are very nice.

Yeah, the plastic shiny ones are way worse.  I’ve never tried matte sealing them, but I’ll test it on one.  I’d like to eventually replace them with the cloth ones like the red ones, but I’ll give the matte spray a try first.

The Aquarium plants from Wilkinson in the UK have soom good options

They also do one that is a series of circular tufts that can be snapped into sections in the same way you can ‘Horsetails’ as we call them oop north, and that make passable Palmettos

Matt spray works to take away the plastic look. I also repaint a lot of them using simple craft paints.

I used plants pretty much identical to the green ones above with a drybrushing of red craft paint on the edges to make martian red weed. They work well and an over spray of matte would only improve them.
