The series of posts looking at Warlord Games’ Third Rates of Renown concludes with the Spanish 80-gun ship of the line Argonauta, built and launched at El Ferrol in June 1798.

Described at the time as one of the best ships in Europe and by Admiral Villeneuve on seeing her fresh out of dry dock newly careened and coppered in Cadiz in April 1805 as looking ‘excellent’ the Argonauta makes a fine subject to end on.
