Hi,
Found this whilst researching the S-tank:

Ok, mea culpa, may be I shouldn’t have tried to include a picture in my first posting.
I’ve got the file path correct etc, if any one can give me some pointers as to what I’m doing wrong I’d appreciate it.

Thanks for the help in sorting this Mike. Sorry to be a nuisance first time out……

Now that is seriously cool, perfect for the Golan.
Also, wotcha Jonathan, good to see you posting here.
Just noticed in the background of that photo what looks like a USAF Viggen?
Where did you find that pic?
Very cool alt use of the S-tank! Might have to build one from QRF and do it up Israeli-style!

I’ve never been a fan of the S-tank, but that’s a very impressive bit of kit.
Excuse my ignorance, but what’s the machine gun lined up along the barrel for?
I think it’s a ranging machine gun to aid main gun accuracy. A lot of tanks had them, but the Israeli ones tended to be more prominent. Don’t know if they’re used much anymore, except perhaps as a backup.
Thanks. 🙂
The Israeli’s mount extra mgs on their tanks for fire suppression against infantry and other soft targets. The Strv 103A/B had an optical rangefinder that was upgraded in the mk C to a laser one.

M1 Abrams with the TUSK and urban warfare systems have .50s over the cannon as well to add to their firepower as the coax mg was deemed too weak to punch into buildings and heavy cover, as well as lightly armored vehicles. Less for aiming, more for blasting!
