I finished some 1/600th scale Tumbling Dice planes for the PAF c1995, ready to use with Target Locked On!. I just have to do the EAF now (wonder where I can get decals for that??)
A lot of aircraft in the North, and I specifically remember a pair of mirages doing touch and goes at Chiclayo airport, hag a green/yellow/brown scheme. Basically as painted but some disruptive green.
I think you may have to pay someone to make you an Ecuadorian decal sheet.
In 1995 they got caught in the hop, so most if not all of the Peruvian aircraft were in desert camouflage, which might explain how a Sukhoi was shot down over the jungle by Ecuadorian Mirage F1’s.
I had contact with the military on both sides of the border and the Peruvians took the Ecuadorian airforce very seriously.
Jim, those are amazing. I’ve painted a few dozen of TD’s 1/600 aircraft over the past few weeks, and all I can say is you have better eyesight, a steadier hand and way more patience than me!
Interesting conflict too, I actually hadn’t come across it before.
I’m not surprised they were wary. The EAF are well equipped and trained.
This is the next bit of the Alto Cenepa project using Tumbling Dice 1/600th scale planes including Jaguars, IAI Kfirs, Strikemasters, A37 Dragonflies, Mirage F1’s and a Hercules!
Can’t forget the Hanriot!
Pure awesomeness, Jim!
Some really good looking planes there. Looking forward to seeing this project develop.
