Does anyone know what the normal ammo load would have been for a Soviet soldier carrying an SVD sniper rifle?
A quick google of Russian language sources gives no definitive answer, but strongly suggests a standard BK of 50 rounds (5 mags). In Afghanistan it appears to have been usual to carry a double, and sometimes even a triple, BK.
All the best,
That is more or less the direction that I was leaning, but couldn’t find anything specific in black and white.
Many thanks, the help is much appreciated.
