ParticipantI want to see what figures are out there that might suitable for 9th century AD, or thereabouts. From around the time when Sinbad’s fantastic voyages were supposed to have taken place. Thanks so much.
These are the suggestions offered so far:

ParticipantEssex do civilians, slaves and a geezer on a flying carpet. There’s pack camels in their ranges too.
MOG17 Moghul Indian: Command: General on Flying Carpet!
XEQ4 Arab type slaves carrying baggage
TT11 Camps: Assorted Arab civilians

ParticipantWow, I missed those when I placed my order. Excellent. And that flying carpet guy is hilarious. Perfect.
Thanks!

ParticipantMuseum Miniatures do various hordes in a variety of dress (and undress) styles including Arabs.

ParticipantBy the way …
I wonder if these guys are as “hefty” (buff?) as they look in the picture:

Has anyone here ordered them and seen them up close?
Thanks

ParticipantI haven’t bought any of them but there is a photo of painted examples on the home page of the Museum Miniatures website and the actual figures look a lot less chunky than the 3D rendering.

ParticipantI have some. I think it’s fair to say that the renderings have spent more hours in the gym…

LOL. Thanks guys! I’m going to place my order right now then.
I think that set might be perfect for the crew of Sinbad’s ship, sailing the trade routes of the Indian Ocean and beyond:

I agree, as long as they have picked up headwear and weapons along the way. The Xyston Athenian rowers (ANC20023) may also be worth a look.
