I’ve just added a very nice Dinky 25pdr., tractor and limber to the Emporium. I seem to have a memory from the very dim and distant (55 years ago!) of playing with this toy and it having a gun crew for the 25pdr.

    1. Am I correct?

    2. You’re dreaming Dickhead… mixed up with the Airfix models you got much later!

    3. Correct, they did.

    4. See question 3… can you still glean the guncrew, if so, where from?

Any help or assistance from the Brethran would be most appreciated.

    Mine didn’t.

And after the  “Sandbox Incident”, it didn’t have the gun, either.

    I’m going for option 2.

    Sorry Harry!

Yep, that’s the little blighter… must have been dreaming about a gun crew with it!

For a while there I too was convinced that my Dinky model came with a crew  but then I realised it was these Airfix guys I had in mind:

With regard to what you could use to act as gun crew I think we generally used to use kneeling shooting guys.  Mind you back then we were lining the troops up in the back garden and shooting air pistols at them. Happy days!

Still got mine but never had any crew. Still have the box too so I’m pretty certain of that.

The crew in the photo are airfix, probably from their 25 pdr.

    That’s the Airfix kit itself.

There was also a Britain’s model, which didn’t come with crew either.

I too had both and would agree that answer two applies.

However, with my diminishing number of grey hairs and evidence of onset dementia, I would prefer that those of us who need reminding of matters from long ago did not have pejorative words added to sentences to describe us.

[Dickhead really not required; is Brethran a northern terminology for Brethren?]

I think Harry was aiming the insult at himself rather than at the world at large.

    That’s how I read it.

    Trust science, not the scientists.

I was… and I demand the right to be the biggest dickhead in the village!!!

The thrust of the original comment was evident, the subtleties of my riposte apparently less so.

I think we can at least admit that we’re all Dinkheads on this thread, no?
