THe reverse of the other thread.

The “Big 3” are Imperial Romans, Napoleonic French and WW2 Germans.

Do we have anyone who does game in those periods but don’t collect any of those 3 armies?

I knew a guy once who only ever played the English (or whatever was closest to them) but I haven’t talked to him in years. He could have qualified though.

I have some 15mm WW2 german figures and vehicles, but none are built nor painted, so not really a collection.  Same for nappies, I have some “generic” 1/600 nappy samples from Oddzial Osmy, but again not painted nor really an army.  But I do have some painted DUST Axis troops, but do they count as German?

Closest I’ve got are 6mm Republican Romans (opponents for my Carthaginians) … and I’m planning on getting rid of them.

I presume you mean Early Imperial Romans?  I don’t own them…yet.  I don’t think they are all that interesting of an army.  Republican Romans are far more interesting as they have a wide variety of enemies to fight.  Interestingly enough, they are not a must for the period.  Any two armies can fight one another.

WW2 Germans are a must if you fight WW2 in Europe.  I have these.

Napoleonic French Army is a must if you are fighting the Napoleonic wars.  I started historical gaming with this army.

I am coming from a standpoint where I provide both armies when table top gaming.  So naturally, if I game the period, I will have those you mention.

I suppose someone could do Romanians and Soviets or Italians and British but that’d be pretty unusual.

    Strangely enough, I have both those combinations – Rom+Sov in 15s, Ita+Brits in 10s …

Also, I have a bunch of unpainted 3mm Napoleonics, but they’re for an imagi-nations idea, so no Nappy French either!

Does this mean I’m a bit strange?  as I’m English, I’ll go for ‘eccentric’

    No, not at all.

However, as you are English, the use of the word ‘Nappy’ in a non-ironic manner does mark you out as…different.

I have Germans and Romans in 15 mm, no Napoleons.

    Unpainted Russian  Napoleonics.

A tidy little bunch of unpainted ancient Germans. But I might turn them into Dunlendings fot Middle Earth.

WW2 I do both sides, Germans and Soviets and Commonwealth to fight them.

I do ancients but I don’t have any Imperial Romans–which for me means the Principate. I do have Polybian and Marian Romans, though. The closest I get to Napoleonics is the French and Indian War. WWII is not even on my gaming radar.

Two out of three ain’t bad, as they say!

I’ve not got any WW2 Germans. I prefer the eccentricity of WW2 Italians…
