Over on Must Contain Minis, I got a good and quick look at Asset Drop’s Discovery Box for September 2019. This is a subscription service for painters who like surprises that come with little practice models and paints.
Come on over and check out the review. https://mustcontainminis.com/2019/09/asset-drop-review-september-2019.html

Neat! I’d subscribe if postage and customs wouldn’t kill me…
We get slapped around, but we have a good time!
The one thing I don’t like about buying paints and brushes is surprises. In my experience they are usually bad ones. I’ll continue to buy what I know works for me, thank you.
Obviously this one is not aimed at historical wargamers but I can’t see the point of even those that I’ve seen that are.
Thanks for posting the review. I like knowing about new things that are going on in the hobby community/industry, like this.
If I ever get into scale modelling or diorama modelling (as something separate from wargames modelling), I could be interested in this service. I have my wargames painting methods “locked down” but see scale/diorama modelling as a refreshing chance to be more freeform and experimental in regard to painting.
The other subscription boxes seem a bit odd to me. One that’s only male diorama figures and one that’s only female ones. No alternative for people who might want a balanced mix of both in one subscription.
Thanks for the review. It’s not for me but it was interesting to read about it.
