I managed to get hold of a cheap copy of the starwars risk game, I didnt really have a plan for the minis just because it was cheap, and then I read http://www.blastwave-comic.com/index.php?p=comic&nro=1
and this gave me the inspiration for the troops, so some shameless plagiarism later we have the following.
So this is the commander (bottom left) with his personal transport and a squad for support and the HMG specialists
Another squad, this time with heavy support from 2 of the 3 sisters
So GWTBW doesn’t have heavy walkers (yet) but I couldnt resist
say hello to “Lack of Interest”, “Seven Inch Split” and “Stapled Shut”
for those interested this is how the mechs started out
made from junk electronic bits recovered from the bins at work
I’ve made some smaller mechs as not all of our games go to the scale needed for the big ones
Comments, criticism and questions always welcome
Oh by the way the thread title is a reference to the green army from GWTBW21/06/2015 at 13:45 #26423RhodericParticipant
Slightly weird, but very cool. Good job on the mechs! Is the lichen (or whatever that multicoloured spongy material is) there as camo?
I also like the terrain that goes with it. Captures the deliberately dreary feel of the webcomic well.21/06/2015 at 18:52 #26438
Glad you like them Rhoderic. The camo netting is cheap dish cloth soaked in various coloured inks and then hung in place.
The terrain is just waste cardboard and other assorted junk made as the club has very little 15mm sci-fi scenery. I got bored fighting battle for other worlds in and around 1944 Normandy 🙂
And yes the cartoon is weird which is why I liked it.

Great scratch built Mechs and love the idea of them covered with lichen. Might have to ‘borrow’ that idea…16/07/2015 at 11:51 #27765
Glad you like them.
