AWE 10 are simple and fast rules to play Ancient battles 300 BC – AD 500

They have a unique combat system that uses no inherent randomness.  Combat Tiles with hidden factors are placed underneath the bases, allowing for interesting battles without predictable outcomes.

You can get the rules here:

Where there is a little synopsis, under ‘review’.

A game walkthrough can be found on the game’s BGG page:

    Hi Rhoderic,

The cover art was obtained by purchasing rights from Guiseppe Rava,  a talented Italian painter that is also a famous historical illustrator.

By the way, this cover superiorly represents the spirit of the game.

“There is no inherent randomness or deterministic outcomes”, says the blurb.

I think you have to have one or the other.

    All the best,

    John.

Interesting statement, that could lead a good discussion.
