How do you base Colonial 1/72 armies? I am going to do a variant of One Hour Wargames but I would like to be able to play other, unit / element based, rules. Thank you
Great question. I originally did my Zulu wars based on the 1-2-3 method for TMWWBK. In retrospect I should have based them on 15-20mm single bases and then made a movement tray rather than glue them on the bases.

I forgot to ask, are you using the colonial rules on the IO group page? If not I would be interested in seeing your interpretation of units for the indigenous forces.

I am planning to do Italian Ascari vs Dervishes 1890-93., using OHW Rifle & Saber as a start.
Ascari 1d6+2
Artillery 1 d6
Irregulars 1d6-2
Ascari lancers shoot 1d6-2 or melee 1d6
Dervish (foot and mounted) shoot 1d6-2 or fight d6+2 (foot move 9″)
this is the idea but I have still to try it!
I think that will work nicely. I’ve tried to do Zulu wars but struggle to differentiate between the Zulu’s. I have zulus with rifles shoot D6-2. Married melee D6+2. Unmarried melee D6.
Still need to play test a little more.
