As up until now I have avoided the problem of my terrain bases warping as it is sheet steel.

Which is cheap and fine and dandy for 6mm, however moving to 15mm may make this method unviable.

What do you all do and does it work?

MDF but seal and paint both sides before scenificating to minimize warping.

    2mm MDF?
Will I need a jigsaw to cut it?

I started out using 4mm MDF placemats and coasters, but recently I’ve gone over to 0.5mm styrene sheet, which is much easier to work with.

I use photo matting, takes paint well with no warping or priming.

Mdf always warps on me even if I treat both sides.  It’s probably the ridiculous climate I live in (-26 today).
