So, I’m going to try and post my progress and update regularly on my blog:
http://gasmaskjournal.blogspot.com/
I hope to, by October, have the project finished. It not only involves building/painting the terrain, but commissioning some 6mm infantry and, luckily, I know some sculptors who have agreed to help me out with some very iconic DUNE models.
PM me with any questions or shoot me an email at [email protected]. I would love to hear suggestions or feedback,
Dave

Looking forward to seeing this one – the scale certainly is right!

VERY intrigued by the custom miniatures, if you won’t spill the beans on them do at least give us a little spoiler, pretty please

But as of now, fingers-crossed, I have three talented sculptors either working on, or planning, stuff. I also have an outlet (Gorgon Studios) to make anything available. Obviously, things will be “generic” enough to avoid IP issues. As soon as I have some WIP shots, I will share them – for sure. This is a great community and I appreciate the feedback!

I can not help but think a city higher up, maybe in the clouds would be, you know, nicer!😉
25/07/2015 at 09:31 #28095Alvin MolethrottlerParticipantForgot to mention that a fellow called Mark Molnar has done some excellent concept art for Dune, a great source of inspiration and worth 2 minutes of anybody’s time to scroll through.

I’m trying to decide if there are any good 6mm walls I can use to enclose the main city in, or if I need to scratch-build something. Any thoughts?
29/07/2015 at 16:26 #2826429/07/2015 at 16:44 #28265Mr. AverageParticipantDare I suggest Angel Barracks on Michael’s behalf? If you want something more cyclopean, there’s an MDF fabricator out of Australia that does great things. I’ll have to dig out the name. But terrain scaled to 28mm makes great oversized stuff at 6mm scale.
19/08/2015 at 16:47 #29564David PauwelsParticipantThere’s an update up on the blog with a few WIP shots of some of the models I’ve commissioned and what’s planned next. Let me know what you think so far.
19/08/2015 at 17:03 #29565EartherParticipantVery cool!

I commend you for employing Martin Baker, when he worked on commissions for me I found him to be a talented and friendly fellow.
