    This is the first of two games on this battle, a fairly small engagement during the Peloponnesian War. I’m sticking to small scenarios for the present as that allows for quick games and even a couple of games in one session. Hoplites in order to test Optio’s chanceless mechanisms and see if tactical subtleties still count for armies with a limited range of relatively clumsy troop types. Spoiler: they do.

    very nice game, I have seen tables that just have a cross at each corner of the squares, makes the mat look better, but your dots are close to mat color so does look ok

    Thanks Gamegonegood. The dots are semi-transparent. I could increase the transparency and make them even less noticeable but that doesn’t seem to be necessary.
