Our traditional Xmas Game comes each year from the WW1 Campaign in Mesopotamia, we have fought our way up to the outskirts of Bagdad only to be besieged at Kut.
It’s now time for the Tigris Corps to try their luck and see if they can break through the Turkish lines and save the Empire troops trapped to their North.
The first battle is at hastily prepared line of trenches close to Sheikh Sa’ad. This blog post covers the set up for the game, I’ll follow up with an AAR shortly.

Looks sensational. I await the report.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood
Looks great, I too await the AAR.
Very nice. Which weapon is the sikh soldier carrying (second in from left)?
Many thanks everyone,
Hi, Whirlwind the “weapon” is a Chauchat Machine Gun, a little early for active duty as they only came into production in Dec 15, we just used it as a rifleman in the game.
Btw the soldier is Hindu rather than Sikh. There were loads of different types of turbans in use, however Sikh turbans tend to have a flat top whilst Hindu and Muslim units have a pointed top.
If you put ww1 turban styles into Google it will bring up a picture of 16 different styles.

Looks to be a fantastic game. Makes me tingly all over.
Army Command – 4 figs rated Eton.
What does “rated Eton” mean?
Self taught, persistently behind the times, never up to date. AKA ~ jeff
More verbosity: http://petiteguerre.blogspot.com/
Hi,
“Eton” is a class of British Officer that determines how many actions they get in a turn, best to worst the classes are Wellington, Eaton, Harrow, Lord Melchett.
