A couple of games with a real opponent. It was a privilege to host my brother and play a couple of games with him. The second game was definitely more fun because we build armies in secret.
I learned about the actual importance of having units with the recon/scout ability, and we played around with more things. He had booby-trapped an objective, which meant I couldn’t take it without risking an HE attack against a squad, protecting him from having to pull a chit for it. He also had a sniper, which I am not sure was super useful as a unit. It has the scout ability, so counts for the “pre-battle battle of recon units”. We both had one scout unit, which mean no-one had to pull a chit right off the bat. The sniper only scored one hit against me, but he got to pick the target, which was useful to him.
We had a lot of anti tank fire (I ran out of smoke markers), a timed barrage (which was absolutely awesome!), and a break down (where rolling a six is apparently bad?!?!?!).
All around, brilliant games. I love this rule set.
