BBC Proms coverage – Fantasy Film Music

Currently on the BBC iPlayer Proms coverage is a 90 minutes fantasy film prom from this season.

No sci-fi special yet listed but some film music pieces have been played so they may pull one together (fingers crossed) as a ‘selected music from’.

Note – this may not be available outside the U.K. due to BBC region / licence restrictions but I cannot test as my TV does not have a VPN.

Interestingly, more and more game / film music is making it into the Classic FM top 300 [Classic FM subsite] with the top results being Final Fantasy at #194, LotR at #35, StarWars at #32 and Schindler’s List (staying) at #10. Be interesting to see if anything specifically composed for the new Napoleon film makes it next year – the clips I have seen where impressive.

Classic also have a movie special hosted by Johnathan Ross Saturdays 19:00 that often has gaming / sci-fi / fantasy specials.

Anyway – time to put this down and enjoy 75 minutes of VOCES8 – night all 🙂
