What are the best 6mm terrain set-ups that you have seen? I am looking to improve the look of my games over the next 15 months and I am looking for any and all inspiration…
Any particular genre / period?
Not really. I game multiple periods/genres and there is lots of potential for terrain adaptation from one to another.
I am / was quite proud of my 6mm sci-fi / PA junker town:
Anshan – Building a Junker Town
That was made modular for storage and also the bases allowed a greater amount of detail.
I want to try and turn this:
Into something as detailed, but for now, the 6mm wins!
I cannot think of any off the top of my head, but I always look at this guy’s 6mm ww2 reports with IABSM for the terrain:
There were many fine games on display at the Baccus ‘Joy of Six’ show last month. Best of show probably this Poltava layout:
Poltava 1709 at Joy of Six 2019 – the Grand Finale of the Towards Moscow Trilogy (TMT)
I also thought the TBM Kolin game was beautiful – their buildings are gorgeous. Per’s report on JoS is here with photos of all the games:
Passing through Joy of Six 2019
Bloody Big BATTLES!
Jon Bleasdale, does an excellent napoleonic battlefield and WWII desert. his latest post is about ‘tarting up’ some river sections in 6mm.
Google “Mark Luther 6mm” for some great wwii tables:)
Richmond, VA. Let's play!
I made some 6mm terrain boards a few years ago.
A couple of closeups
Details on the builds and some of the other scenery is here (scroll down a bit)
