I need to strip paint from some old figs that I bought some time back. The figs are metal, but have some plastic parts, what will strip the paint from the plastic parts without attacking the plastic?
Thanks,
irishserb
Use Dettol, a generally available desinfectant. It will solve most paints and leave the plastic (and the metal) untouched.

As “Pijlie” says Dettol works brilliantly, leave them soaking for a few days and wipe the gunk off with a cloth or tissue and then I wash in soapy water, then rinse under a hot tap, finally wire brush them clean. (added bonus your figures are 99% germ free.)
Only discovered Dettol as a paint stripper 2 years ago.
Dettol is great. You cna also use Simple green if you can get it – Does the exact same thing.
Thanks all. I was able to find Simple green locally, and will give that a try, though I think I will order some Dettol from Amazon.
Thanks again.
