Just to contribute a bit to the forum: It’s been quite a few years since I’ve painted figures. Age and diminishing sight have limited my options–even 54mm had gotten challenging. But I recently bought a magnifying visor and found that it helps significantly. So… my first painted figures in a long, long time. Not enough to play a game with, but it’s got me planning. Maybe ‘The Portable Wargame’ or something along that style.

I’ve had the figures for years. I think the Zulus are ‘A Call to Arms’ and I’m sure the Brits are ‘Armies in Plastic’.

Those look really good. I think you’re right, those Zulus look like CtoA – painted bunches years ago. If haven’t already, I’d highly recommend The Portable Wargame. The rules are simplicity itself and yet can lead to some real nail-biting actions!

    Please keep us posted!

Very nice Jeff. Super job for such a long painting sabaticle. I have only done occaisional one-offs at this scale over the years. I know you will have fun gaming with them.

    Thanks, Vol,

Anyone using a Geoff Hunt painting on a Patrick O’Brien book as an avatar is OK in my book.

Outstanding. The 54mms figures give a very dramatic effect on the table top. You paint job is first rate.  I am looking forward to seeing more of these fine fellows.
