Toying with some ideas for a new game for 2016….
05/10/2015 at 20:56 #32091willzParticipantI will be there, so count me in.
05/10/2015 at 21:02 #32092Steve JohnsonParticipantGreat news. I’m already planning some form of KR-16 gaming fun, so even with my slow rate of work, have nearly a year to get my act together!
21/01/2016 at 09:49 #37053Angel BarracksModerator21/01/2016 at 20:11 #37087Angel BarracksModeratorIn Her Majesty’s Name is a popular Victorian Science Fiction skirmish game. One of the authors, Craig Cartmell, shall be on hand to introduce newcomers to the game and to chat about the game and its future with the many players already out there. (He will also be happy to answer questions about his other games Daisho and Blood Eagle.)
The participation games will be fast and furious and take no more than half an hour of your time.

14/06/2016 at 21:12 #43339DMParticipantI must admit I was feeling a bit guilty that so far I hadn’t stuck my hand up and volunteered to run a game this year but seeing that excellent list of games there I don’t think I need have worried 🙂

Did anyone take photo’s.
01/10/2016 at 19:37 #49660Angel BarracksModeratorDoor attendance was poor, half of what we got last year.
I think this year is the last Blast-Tastic! in its current format.
It is an awful lot of work doing a show, especially without the weight of an entire games club behind you.
To then have decreasing attendance despite plenty of games and traders being there is discouraging, not only for me but also for the people that paid to have the trade stands if they don’t get many customers.
As a trader I know how important it is for the day to be financially viable.Initial feedback is that the gamers all had fun though, the social aspect seemed great, with everyone I spoke to wanting to come back next year to put on more games, however a venue like that relies on the traders to cover the hire cost, if the traders don’t come due to falling attendance it is time to re-think how to keep the show going.
My initial thoughts for next year is to make it games only and move to a cheaper venue, with a small fee to help cover the hire costs and just make it about the playing and the social side.
That means a lot less cost as the venue can be smaller, and hired for less hours, it also means less stress for myself and Samantha and no disappointed traders.I will start looking at smaller venues and see about making it a games only event for next year.
Stay tuned…01/10/2016 at 21:57 #49668Steve JohnsonParticipantSome pics and a report on the day can be found on my Blog below:

01/10/2016 at 23:19 #49670RhodericMemberSorry to hear turnout wasn’t great, but you seem to be taking it in stride so that’s reassuring.
Wish I could have supported this and other UK shows by attending but, you know, the North Sea gets in the way
02/10/2016 at 07:58 #49679willzParticipantThanks for you post Steve, it looked like a good day out.
Sad to have missed it, well done everyone who help to set up the show.
10/10/2016 at 19:10 #50291greg954ParticipantSorry I missed it. I was really looking forward to it for a while. Was planning to have a game or too, had some things in mind which I wanted to get from the traders. Then I was ill all weekend and have to have the Monday off work.
So suffice to say I was very grumpy. Still am, haven’t had much chance to get out and do something and when I do. I ruddy well fall I’ll. Anyway, have I moaned enough?
