Schwere Panzerjager Abt 8, variously attached to 2nd & 1st Panzer Divisions/Gro├čdeutschland IR in 1940.

Is there a decent book on the above halftrack &/or unit or do I have to scrape info together from countless sources?

Just wondering if anyone’s done the legwork already on this niche bit of kit.

Jensch and Doyle have a section on the BuflaK in their Panzertracts on the 88mm FlaK18/35/36. I’m not aware of a specific book just on the weapon though. They were attached to PzD, but I don’t remember which offhand. (1 & 7 as well as 2?) GD itself was attached to 1PzD.

There were 2 batteries, each (probably) of 9, although a couple might have been kept as spares. There are some good quality photographs in various publications on the net. Paint was the 2/3 gray, 1/3 dark brown EW scheme with minimal markings, just registration plates. Presumably they then got repainted plain gray before use in the East in 1941.
