I’m pleased to say that I have eventually finished the first complete unit for my Early Byzantines!
I’ve added in a couple of extra characters like the officer with his hand in the air, commanding the archers to loose and the Flamoularioi officer to ‘dress the ranks’.
You can see a whole load of extra pics of the unit as a whole and each individual stand from various angles on my blog here:

First, a more or less actual size pic:

Wonderful painting!!!!
Cheers for the kind comments people ๐
Wow!ย Definitely deserves a blown trumpet!ย I like the little detail of painting and mottling the edges of the bases to match the top.ย Beautiful.
That’s a massive unit – what rules do you intend on using them for?
Wow, too! Damned pretty work, there!
We get slapped around, but we have a good time!
Thanks again guys.

They’re based for Swordpoint but they could easily be used in Hail Caesar, WAB or Impetus (given that the bases are 40mm wideย by 50mm deep- 3 x bases for unit). Pretty miuch anything really. I tend not to worry about base sizes too much and just go for what looks right.ย A Swordpoint infantry base is suppoed to be 40mm x 40mm but I needed the depth so the miniatures weren’t too cramped which can look a bit soul less IMHO ๐
Simply awesome.
The tree of Life is self pruning.
Very nice, stunning.
Thanks for the kind words people- very much appreciated ๐
