17/01/2018 at 19:14 #82052Norm SParticipantHmmm, that is a lot of sea to land ratio, so does the naval part of the ‘mystery’ play a significant part – such as a coastal defence game?

“Simple question mineheron, feeble attempt by the Tommies to observe zer invasion force arriving. Ve vill simply annihilate zem with our Stukas. Zen cover zer vite cliffs of Dover mitt our hunters from zer sky!”
“Vot about zer RAF?”
“Ha! Zer RAF will have enough on it’s hands as ve devastate zer airfields mitt sledgehammer blows. Zey vill have nuzzink spare to save zer spindly legged towers… not even a Spitfire can be in two places at vonce!”

Looks like about a 4 foot X 4 foot board. No hexes or squares. Those are Corgi Fighter Scramble airplanes. I loves me some Corgi Fighter Scramble, I have a couple crates of them. What rules are you playing?

18/01/2018 at 17:57 #82120Harry FavershamBlockedWe’ve kind of cobbled the rules together from Neil Thomas’s ‘one hour wargames’, plus nicking bits and bobs folk have added on… one set, kind of tickled up, his WW2 set, another converted ’em to do battle with Dreadnoughts. Dive bombing with yer Stukas entails standing on a kitchen chair and dropping a dart at the dartboard… all very soffisticated stuff!
