2017 was a helluva year, but most of the ‘helluva-‘ part was real life, not gaming, unfortunately. I only got 71 games in, well down from my 100+ average the past few years, but I did get quite a bit of painting done near the end of the year, and I wanted to share it. On New Year’s Eve I actually published 15 separate posts; I don’t want to overload the forum, so enclosed here are links to all of them. Enjoy!

Wow, Jack, you have been busy! Just need to get some gaming in with all those newly painted troops! I’m still working on doing The Pikeman’s Lament but have a ton of Pulp Conan Tarzan and Gangsters coming. I’ll post when I get a game in!06/01/2018 at 02:16 #80957
Yeah man, lots of painting accomplished, but still plenty more to do, but I’m excited to get some games in, just not sure which project… I look forward to your gangsters; I’ve looked at the Blue Moon 18mm range numerous times, always scared off thinking about what I’d have to do for terrain. What’s your plan?
Jack06/01/2018 at 02:52 #80959
The gangster terrain will be the BF FOW houses I already have, matchbox cars and trucks. I mostly already have. That is the benefit of only having one scale/size.07/01/2018 at 02:11 #81052Rod RobertsonParticipant
Holy crap, Jack! That was an impressive array of painting accomplishments which you posted there! Well done, sir. You’re a painting machine. You humble me!

Rod – Thanks man, and hope you get back in the groove.
John – Certainly a benefit to having only one size/scale, but I’m scared off of gangster stuff by having to buy so many buildings for a city, plus wanting to have specialized stuff (an apartment building, a nightclub, a warehouse) that’s big and has the ability to have gunfights inside, on multiple floors. Plus a bunch of vehicles from the 1920s/30s (which is when I would want to game, but certainly could go up into the 50s?).

Jack, I buy stuff years before I need it. So I have some of the matchbox cars I got 10 or 15 years ago. The Virtual Armchair General has paper model printouts for Gangster sets, they are in 28mm but can be resized for 15mm or 10mm or even 6mm!!! Both Blue Moon and Rebel Miniatures make 18/15 mm Gangsters.
Rod how do we help you get your groove back??
