ParticipantVery slick.
I’ve been reading the 3rd and 4th of the Hyperion scifi series, which features a spacegoing Catholic church centuries in the future, and it’s making me want to get some priests for my 28mm scifi, too.

ParticipantGreat job Mark – I always find painting the colourful extras much more fun than the actual painting of the army.
You mention that you use gorilla glue to help the paint adhere? But you primed everything – figure and base – later. Do you find your primer comes off the washers and that Gorilla Glue fixes that?
I never really thought about it, but it seems odd that paint would adhere to a smooth, shiny glue. I’m not arguing with you as you’ve actually tried it. Wonder why?

Cool Nathaniel, would love to see what you come up with for that!

I guess it works because the steel washers are already smooth and when I apply the glue I make a random pattern that is essentially less smooth. It also seals the washer – and later applications have a better foundation to bind to. I have seen primer come off the edges before.

ParticipantI’ve always found monk and priest figures useful for filling the ranks of units, especially dark age and Medieval.
My guess is that if you have SF priests, those in long established orders probably won’t change all that much.
Still priests, as opposed to monks, can probably be more flexible
Serbian Orthodox archpriest Vukajlo Božović was a guerrilla leader in the Kosovo Vilayet. (According to wiki 🙂 )
