Only just realised that I’ve been lurking on this site and never posted about my site.
I’m the author behind ChargeBlog, a hobby blog with a focus on Ultramodern games in 28mm. Almost every week I’ve written at least two posts – an update in Wargaming Week and then a Friday feature post which is something like a battle report, impressions piece or indepth project update. I’ve also written the Great Big Modern Wargaming Rules Comparison, which compares some of the most popular rulesets available. Tomorrow I’m releasing Part 2, to look at a few more rulesets (some of which were released in the last year) and provide an easy, one stop shop to answer “Which Rules Should I Play”
The site can be found at http://hntdaab.co.uk/blog/ . I hope you all enjoy the stuff I’ve released so far and keep an eye on it next year – I already have lots of articles planned.

Last Friday’s post was covering some new releases from Eureka, a range of Brits perfect for early in the War on Terror. I really like the Eureka style and these guys were great fun to paint – mainly as there was no multicam.

04/05/2018 at 15:28 #89941Darkest Star GamesParticipantGreat looking game! Always good to introduce your favorite ruleset to other people. I hope you made a few converts! That crashed Hurkybird really is eyecatching for sure.
On the subject of possibly not reaching enough people due to game length: In the past I have taken games to conventions where there has been one “scripted” game (by that I mean a PvP scenario that has been thoroughly playtested for balance) and on “same side” game. The same side game allows the GM to run the bad guys, being able to add or subtract enemy forces at will and on the fly, while players can literally come and go or be added in as the game runs. The point of that sort of game is for players to be able to get a grab on the system without having to worry about a competitive aspect, and it’s even a good idea to allow them to hop around between different unit types, swap vehicles, etc. The best scenario for this sort of thing is either a search type or a clear type. Allows for a lot of gun play, can also use stealth and other skills. I have also found that it helps some to let the players have an advantage and get a few kills, gets them excited. Works a treat!
