A cold day in the 80s when the cold war went hot.
Taking off and defending a very makeshift FOB somewhere in Central Europe.
To take of vertically (more or less) I had just 2 cluster bombs, 2 lima Sidewinders and 1800lb of fuel. Still needed to carefully coax the aircraft up. Making it a mix of vertical and short take off(AI Wingman doesn’t believe in the so called gravity and just did a normal vertical take off)
Soviet Mechanised infantry was just a few miles ahead. We flew over the remains of a previous battle from the last attempt the Soviets did against the FOB.
