And the Regent,of course:

If found, they may bring new insights into Renaissance shipbuilding methods.

I would add that Anne, Duchess of Brittany, had married the king of France (she married two actually) but the Cordeliere was not technically a French ship then, it was still a Breton one: the two countries were not officially united before 1532.

I’ll crawl back under my pedantic rock now. Modern journalism… jeesh!

But if they had to get through it 200 times, sure helps explain how they got sunk:
10/03/2018 at 18:23 #86385McKinstryParticipantI would expect that after 200 times they scuttled the ship and lept overboard.

“Meanwhile, on board the Regent”:
I know, I know– wrong century. But I couldn’t resist!
McKinstry: Did you catch that last helicopter shot? Sweet revenge!
11/03/2018 at 08:01 #86407McKinstryParticipantExposure to the Pachelbel Canon played often enough would surely justify mutiny, piracy and the use of surface to air missiles as a measured and appropriate response to a clear crime against humanity.

But, although off topic a bit, I want to be fair to the Clone Army Band, so will allow them to show themselves in slightly more martial mood:
Perhaps those will restore some discipline to the ranks?
11/03/2018 at 16:51 #86423McKinstryParticipantI do fancy the idea of a combat harpsichord ensemble and as with all things at all times, bagpipes make everything better.

11/03/2018 at 18:52 #86428Autodidact-O-SaurusParticipantOh, my! Talk about a conversation careening off the tracks. And it’s my fault. Shame! Shame!
Actually, I was referring to ‘canon’ defined as ‘a fundamental principle or general rule’. With 200 ‘canon’ I just see a highly disciplined ship’s crew because chewing your hard tack on the wrong side of the mouth may get you lashed!
Now I picture Mozart conducting an orchestra on the poop deck as HMS Surprise sails into battle. Playing, of course….
Thanks guys!

Very impressive it was, too!
12/03/2018 at 15:15 #86477Hafen von SchlockenbergParticipantOh,BTW, Auto–may I call you “Auto”?
I did catch your meaning, and it evoked visions of Monty Python! But that led to an “on the other hand” scenario, involving Pachelbel.
On the, er, third hand, now I’m thinking of a crew press-ganged from the ranks of superfluous literary critics:
I blame too much youthful Python-viewing.
21/03/2018 at 16:42 #86977Autodidact-O-SaurusParticipantSure. Just don’t call me ‘sweetie’.

Alright, I admit I’m just too lazy to type out the whole thing. But neither of those are very respectful, so how about something a little more dignified, like the vocative? I’ll try it:
“O Saurus! I discover that deleting a file from tinypic also deletes it from the forum on which it was posted. This is deplorable!”
How’s that?
PS– Same goes for me,BTW. You can call me HvS, Hafen, or even “Haf” (if you must).
I’ve been called worse. . .
Now to see if I can track down that pic again.
