On Friday we played another Cruel Seas scenario at the Tring Club. Colin organised an opposed beach landing, the British had to get an undisclosed number of troops onto the beach, escorted by a Flower class corvette and 4 Fairmile D’s. The Germans had two bunkers on the beach with a 50mm AT gun in each and 4 S-boats.

Oh man, 4 couldn’t do it, but 2 extra did?  Crazy!  Was it a case of the new boats having better position when they came on the table?

Good fight, Graham, thanks for sharing!  A bit rough on the LCIs, though.

The first wave of  Germans were not helped by taking out one of their own boats with a torpedo before firing a shot!

When the second wave came on, they were in a better position to launch torpedoes, plus they were initially only opposed by one badly damaged Fairmile D. Plus, for their first turn the LCIs were blocking the LOS of the other two Fairmiles. As it was the damaged Fairmile almost sank one S-boat and took the front 20mm out on the second before it went under.
