Does anybody make Skoda OT 64 APC’s and OT 65 Scout Cars in 15mm scale? I can’t seem to find any manufacturer in this scale. Thanks in advance for any guidance offered.

    Cheers and good gaming.

Don’t know of a source, but I’d love to have the OT-64 in particular.

    Irishserb and Kyoteblue:

Someone on another forum told me that QRF makes the older turret less version of the OT-65 Scout Car. Still no leads on the OT-64 APC. I checked QRF out and that is correct.

    Cheers.

Turns out we had one, but it wasn’t great and died…

    So, OT-64A or LAVIII?

Well, since you’ve added the word “first”, I think that (despite my shameless lobbying for LAV III’s) there will be a much wider market for OT-64’s especially in light of Flames of War coming out with Cold War rules pretty soon. So, with pain and a real sense of personal loss, I would advise that the smart move would be to make an OT-64 first and perhaps a deck plate and small cupola with an MG and 82mm RCL tube to upgrade your existing OT-65. Then somewhere down the road the LAV III’s and variants including an ASLAV and variants too. Have you considered a modular approach to the LAV/ASLAV line which might make production more easy by using common pieces and then pieces unique to each particular vehicle?

    Cheers and good gaming.

The problem with any modular system is that casting is not so precise. Parts cool at different rates depending on thickness and mass, so a modular construction is more likely to encounter fitting problems.

What we end up having to do is make a semi-modular master, then mould it ‘constructed’ so that we get different master hulls.

    Geoff:

I did not know that about casting!  You learn something new all the time but you would think that after 45 years of wargaming I might have learned that somewhere along the way. Thanks for the education!

    Cheers and good gaming.
