My 15mm SF project is focusing more on fighting around hostile moons and asteroids etc thus far and seeking some sort of space ship I finally just decided to buy a 1/72 scale MPC model kit of the Eagle from Space 1999. I like the utilitarian aesthetic of the design. To me it looks like something that could be used for general utility work in the Jovian or Saturn systems etc.
And as seen here, as my 15mm RAFM space men check it out, it scales nicely with them:

And as seen here, it fortuitously fits in that launch bay I started in the winter for my modular underground colony layout:

Nice! I have one myself (unbuilt) and I loved the show as a kid. The engineer in me hates the cockpit, but hey it’s sci-fi!
It really does scale well with 15mm figs. I hear they will be making other versions in the same scale, so we could end up with a lot of Eagle goodness! Can’t wait to see how you paint it up.

It’s an awfully easy kit to put together.
I’ll be painting it pretty standard. White with black thrusters02/06/2018 at 03:59 #92340telzy amberParticipant
I have the Eagle transport and the Hawk smaller, no modules, sorta kinda fighter?05/06/2018 at 23:14 #92635John TreadawayParticipant
It’s a lovely piece of design: the only decent thing to come out of Space 1999. But then it was originally built for the proposed second season of the wonderful UFO show from the same stable, so what does one expect
