The Centurions invited us to put on an introductory game of Et sans résultat! this past Saturday, here is a photograph of what the table looked like at the start. Eight players ran six infantry corps and two cavalry corps, it was a generic 1813 fight (straight forward and balanced for new players). Figures were 15mm, buildings were a mix of 6mm and 10mm. Ground scale used was 1″=75 yards.
That looks great! Very natural appearance for the ground.
How did the game go over?
Thank you! And very well. One of the players had played once before back at our last ReCon game and everyone else was new, one other player had read the rules back in spring, so rather low experience level overall. The feedback from players was:
• mechanics provided “historical results”
• game play was fast
• mechanics were easy to pickup
• the battle “looked right”
Several picked up copies of the rules and a group of them are planning to run the 1812 campaign in 10mm using ESR at 150 yards per inch. There was a lot of talk of how great it was that they could use their existing collections via sabots rather than rebasing.
