The morning of February 9th, 1807, Marshal Ney rode over the blood stained snows of Eylau and exclaimed: “Quel massacre! Et sans résultat!” Translations to english will vary but all are similar to:

What a massacre and without result!

Introducing: Et sans résultat! a detailed, yet highly playable, perspective based Napoleonic wargame, available spring 2015.

‘ESR’ can easily play in real-time with a mix of new and experienced players. From the sequence of play to leader actions, artillery and combat: all procedures necessary to play are included on the double-sided single sheet of charts, with the rulebook being used for clarifying and explaining concepts. Charts, order cards and tabletop gauges for artillery fire & cavalry opportunity charges are freely downloadable.

Et sans résultat! can be played with any scale figures from 2mm to 25mm and can use any ground scale – charts are available for 75, 100, 150 and 200 yards per inch. Players typically command a ‘corps’ of 2-5 ‘divisions’. Battalions, squadron groups and artillery batteries remain elements on the tabletop but without requiring the player to micromanage every aspect of their use.

While ‘ESR’ plays quickly it also includes a stunning amount of detail capturing Napoleonic warfare. Players will find a lot of concepts typically only seen in highly complex, slower playing simulations such as: persistent orders, artillery commitment, paced and intense bombardment, opportunity charges and divisional fatigue & assessments.

I invite you to visit The Wargaming Company to learn more and consider signing up for the Et sans résultat! Announcements! mailing list to be kept informed as we move towards release.

Et sans résultat! is available spring 2015.
