Following my post about putting together my Japanese platoon here’s the first instalment on the British and Commonwealth platoon that will cover the early stages of the war in the Far East. This would be a platoon suitable for Burma in 1942 (and in some cases as late as early 1944), but it is essentially for the early stage of the Far East war anywhere from Hong Kong to New Guinea.
Next week we will be starting the Chain of Command campaign ‘Last Stand on Opium Hill’ that Mark Backhouse wrote for Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy magazine (it’s in issue 101). It’s a short four map campaign set in Singapore and will be a first outing for the platoon.
