ParticipantIf you’re at all into the 40K universe, I’m sure you’ve seen this meme floating about:
Well, my friends and I have been laughing inwardly amongst ourselves for a few weeks about it because someone sent it to me in response to my current 6mm skirmish project, using Vanguard Miniatures. My goal is to play a Rogue Trader-ish campaign at 6mm scale using the Planet 28 rules, which are very much in that flavor. My first force thus far is the venerable Rainbow Warriors of Rogue Trader fame, much maligned and now officially deleted from the canon for unknown reasons probably related to their not being “Metal” enough. But I like ‘em.
So I began a skirmish force with them. Several tactical squads, a Breacher squad, and, as seen above, Terminators and (for starters) a Predator tank.
The insignia are a genuine challenge at this scale but I’m pretty happy with the outcome so far. I have it in mind to pit these guys against a traitor force, most likely the Word Bearers. We’ll see!08/12/2022 at 21:03 #180934Mike

ParticipantBreachers are new in the canon – guys with shields and one handed carbines. I’m not sure what they’re supposed to do, but they look cool.

ParticipantThose are fun! Look good too. Are you going to start with 2 small forces then enlarge them, or complete one faction first then the other before gaming?

ParticipantTwo small forces – two tactical, one Terminator and one Breacher squad, and a tank of some kind, just to start with and learn the rules. At another player’s request the enemy will be either Word Bearers or Thousand Sons. I’m operating under the assumption that the Rainbow Warriors are actually the lost II Legion (the XI being the even-more-mysterious Hands of Fate, to be added later), which would make any legion a possible enemy, though.
In my own made-up world of Fight:Wepon Future Year! the II and XI Legions largely destroyed each other in a battle on the planet Chryses VI, when the Hands of Fate were seduced by the power of the chaos god Tzeentch. The Rainbow Warriors overcame them but only at great cost, including the death of their primarch Tlaloc, and the Imperium covered it all up by declaring damnatio memoriae against both legions. It would have been very bad press to let it get out that a Marine Legion was susceptible to the temptations of Chaos.

Needs the touch of a Commisar.
