Well this is the best bloody good news I’ve had all day!

October sees us diving into a brand new period as we release Fulda Gap. The period of the modern war when tensions between NATO and the Warsaw Pact were running high is a wonderful theatre to develop as the forces arrayed on both sides boast some of the coolest-looking equipment in history. And with the advances in technology, we are looking forward to seeing forces of M1-Abrams covered by A10-Thunderbolts pitting their might against the swathes of T-72s and BMP-mounted infantry. We plan for this to be a complete period with books covering nations and plastic sets for all the main vehicles of every nation. October is just the start and 2016 will have more books and additional miniature.

Yep I am very excited about this. I posted about it here a while back. But we need T-62/4’s for the Soviets not T-72… BF kinda got that part wrong. QRF does make the T-62/4’s though.

Yes mate – very true, it was the T64 in 3rd Shock Army right enough. But a horrible looking tank in my view, my GSFG will be equipped with T72s!

I wonder how long this will last as their Vietnam stuff didn’t seem to really take off…

Of course they are using T-72’s because they intend to model Czech Category A Tank Divisions!  Or Divisions based in the Western USSR.  Or they read Team Yankee one too many times, like me.

I’ll probably pick up a platoons worth of Infantry for each with vehicles for No End in Sight.

If they do infantry platoon packs, like they did for ww2, a few of those will definitely find their way to my gaming tables.
Here’s hoping for some NVA helmets, unless QRF does them first.

Tim the T-72 was used in many Soviet units outside GSFG. As Jozi said the Soviet forces in Czechoslovakia were equipped with them.

The issue is really them saying it is going to be about Fulda gap, and it is unlikely there would be T-72s there (or at least CGF forces moving up to the Fulda area would have given NATO time to start REFORGER).

Maybe. I’m just about to send Chas the Canadians (yes Sparker, he does have the British in helmets already!!), along with the generic ‘US webbing with AK74/RPK/RPG and a few other little surprises (he also has alsations, ideal for guard dogs), and he has just given me a list of odd packs to fill out ranges, postwar Germans with pistolgranate, modern French with FN-MAG, modern French with Eryx…

Currently next on the plan is Cold War European US and new and expanded motor rifle… but NVA could be a feasible sideline 🙂

    Seems perfect.

It’d be perfect to have two sets: One with DP and PPSH guns for 50s and one with AK and all that good stuff for late cold war. I imagine the AK ones would sell best though.

Nobody likes the 50’s for some reason 🙂
Pershings and T35/85 are way cooler than Abrams and T80

So essentially the same uniforms, but with different weapons?

    Ala these guys

I don’t know if the uniforms are really much different, though the guys in the bottom picture have more kit hanging off of them.

I imagine if they had the same uniforms but alternate weapons, most people would be plenty content with those.

    That looks perfect.
If you are okay mixing weapons in a pack, one pack with say, 1 PPSH, 1 DP and 6 Mosin rifles would be perfect.

Heck, if you do any kind of pre-orders, I’ll put money down for two platoons or so now.

    More likely do 2 packs:

    8 x Moisin rifles (3 poses)

    4 x PPSh/4 x DP (2 poses for each)

I wish someone would make fleeing and surrendering soldiers but I imagine it wouldn’t sell very well.
