Not sure I was ever away but.. I’ve finally managed to restore a large chuck of my website (there was a lot to do it’s 22 years old!)
It’s been gathering dust for a number of years but is now back with all of my old paper models, scratchbuilding and terrain projects.
There’s some new stuff on there as well, I’ve gone for a simple WordPress site so I can concentrate more on the content than the style!

I’m now working my way through my sculpting articles and after that I’ll restore the pages I did on painting miniatures.

For those who are interested or more likely have never heard of my site then please do visit http://www.germy.co.uk

Hopefully I’ll be around on the forum a bit more as well.

    Cheers

    Germy

Cheers, still got a lot of content to add, and a number of projects on the go.

I always wanted to see your 2mm scale tracked vehicles come out in metal. The 2mm line were what got me into small scales and I still love them good!

In the back of my head, filed in the “Perhaps, someday, maybe when I retire and have endless time” section, is a conversion of the old Metagaming boardgame “Rivets” to miniatures using those 2mm armour castings that Mr Average mentioned.

    They had such charm!

Sadly I don’t think they will ever make it into production.

I was approached to make some Rivets miniatures (I didn’t take up the offer to make some knock off copies), I think I’ve got a copy of the game here somewhere!

Yes it’s been a while. I’d love to expand the 2mm range, as ever it’s just finding the time.

Great news, your site has been very inspirational.

I have to ask how the pasta plants are holding up or has someone ate them?

Here you go, dug them out since you asked nicely 🙂

I cannot remember how old these actually are, at least 15 years old, and loads of people told me they would rot and go mouldy if I painted them!

That’s wild that they’re still “good” (at least on the surface).  Did you dip them into paint, or just use a brush?   Perhaps the paint and spray coat has protected them from the ravages of oxygenation.

Hand painted and varnished, you can read all about them here:

The picture above and the one on my website show they look exactly the same
    after all this time 🙂
