Found this that I’d forgotten I had while unpacking a box in the New Emporium by the Seaside…

Can’t see a link or anything.

Maybe I’ve had a bonk on the melon?

(And Steve gets there first again! Curses!)

So, it was a box o’ nothin’?

    Or maybe air from home?

Ummm….you know ‘bonk’ has a somewhat different meaning in OZ.

I’d be reluctant to spell it out but let us just say it would have to be a pretty large melon.

    Has the bonker appeared now?

The Phantom Bonker and the Elusive Melon remain as mysteriously imperceptible as ever they were.

    All the best,

    John.

This is a wind up isn’t it?

(PS- Pretty sure ‘Bonk’ has the same indecorous meaning in UK as in Oz – just we is too polite to say so)

So is that a makeshift WWI trench weapon?

We get slapped around, but we have a good time!

Yep, looks like a trench club. Is that an original or a replica?

It’s original, hefting it, is enough to give you the willys.

Topping bonker, lad! Now, how about the melon? Could it be a mere misspelling of the Sindarin?

    “Let me in!”

    “Friend or foe?”

    “Er — Mellon!

    BONK!
