Hey, I’m Dave. I play, on a regular basis, Deadzone, Dreadball, SAGA, Battletech, and Gruntz 15mm Sci-Fi.  On a more infrequent basis I play Chain Of Command, Da Clash, and boardgames like Chaos In The Old World, Lords Of Waterdeep, Space Cadets Dice Duel, and Eclipse.

I love to paint and make bases and terrain.  I might like the hobby aspect even a bit more than playing games (but just a bit).  I’m active on Kickstarter, which means I have, at random times, loads of minis showing up at my door.

I’m currently painting up a late medieval army because I just bought Sword & Spear after hearing about it on the Meeples & Miniatures podcast.  I got some Perry Bro’s plastic Wars Of The Roses figures.  They arrived this past Friday (that’s 3 days ago as of the time of this writing), and I’ve assembled 38 “European Mercenaries” (one box worth) – 18 pikes, 12 crossbows, and 8 dismounted knights / men at arms.  Just now I finished painting (not based) 3 pikes, to add to the 3 I finished yesterday.  If I can keep up this 3 a day pace (probably not) then I can move on to the next box, “Bills and Bows” in about 2 weeks.

The Sword & Spear rules look great.  A quick read, clearly presented.  I hope to get a game in soon with my SAGA minis on movement trays.

If anyone is in SoCal, there’s a very active Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/socaltabletop/

We’ve got a SoCal wide Dreadball league going right now, with divisions in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, and Inland Empire.  The top 2 teams from each division will meet in late August for a champions tournament.

Southern California has a thriving gaming community, playing all kinds of games.  I’m happy to be a part of it.

    Hello!

You sound incredibly busy. I would hang my head in shame at my lack of progress lately, but it is warm and sunny at the moment and in Britain you have to make the most of good weather while you can…..
