I have completed and play tested a ’45 WWII scenario for an upcoming convention. — for 4 players. The rules are the WWII project — which plays like Advanced Squad Leader in many ways. The table is 4 feet wide and 6 feet deep and contains a great deal of terrain. Not very favorable to armor. In essence the battle pits a Volks Grenadier company + supports (3 basic elements — one player commands two platoons, the other player commands one platoon and the supports) against a Russian assault by two Rifle Companies (2 basic elements of 3 platoons each). The unit density is just about right. A bit crowded for the Russians initially.
I’m trying to increase that scenario to 6 maybe 8 players without watering it down too much. I have been toying with adding some tanks . . . maybe infiltrating some Russian scouts / snipers. Not sure if that would be preferable to limiting the Germans to one player per platoon and the Russians to two platoons each.
As a player, what situation would you prefer? Perhaps other suggestions?
