    Hi Everyone!

My name is Ryan and I run Brutal Cities – I just thought I’d share this guide on how to paint concrete terrain without an airbrush. I also have an oil paint weathering guide, but I haven’t done a long form blog post tutorial about it.

Please let me know if you try this and find it useful!

Thanks for posting, always nice to see guides that are not about the airbrush.

My pleasure! Yeah, stippling is under-rated sometimes!
I didn’t actually paint or write that but a customer did such a good job I asked if they would like to share their secrets!  love using oils for weathering as you may know from my oil-preaching haha

Thank you. I used to use an airbrush, I still have two packed away somewhere, but they’re such a faff to clean, and you need good ventilation that is even more of a faff, and something that takes up space, which I don’t have.

So, thank you. I must get around to ordering something from you too.

One is good, more is better

That’s a great result – I tried the Woodland Scenics kit and paints many many years ago for 15mm SciFi but could not get a look I liked.

One thing I never tried are the sponge / foam ‘brushes’ and wonder if they would work or if they are too regular?
