I finished off the last of the 28mm Judge Dredd figures this weekend, it’s two Riot Judges. There’s some photos on my blog, as usual:

    Nice stuff.

How much do you know about the comics?

I am thinking of buying up some cursed earth graphic novels, but am not sure if they do such a collection?
Do certain volumes have more Cursed Earth goodness than others?

@Mike A few to look out for are:

The Cursed Earth Uncensored (the original epic with the previously banned Fast Food Wars stuff resored)

The Dead Man (a sort of prologue to Necropolis)

    The Hunting Party

    Origins

The Carlos Ezquerra Collection (includes most of the Cursed Earth Koburn stories)

I’m pretty sure all of these are in print and published by Rebellion.

Thanks Guys, Mike, I haven’t read a copy of 2000AD for about ten years and prefer the golden era (IMO) of the mid eighties through to the early nineties. I am sure there are a plenty of reprints of the Cursed Earth stuff around, as already mentioned.

I’m interested in knowing more about the Cursed Earth stories, and as this thread has drifted over to that topic anyway, I thought I’d briefly resurrect it.

I’ve hardly ever read any 2000AD content and am mostly just familiar with the Cursed Earth setting through osmosis. What I’m wondering is, what are the different “eras” of the comic(s) / graphic novels? What’s this golden era Abwehrschlacht mentions? What came before and after it? And where do the well-known milestones of the storyline like the Apocalypse War fit into all this?

I’d like to dive into these stories but not necessarily by starting at the beginning and working my way through the entire 39-years-and-counting run. It would be good to have some “highlighted sections” that are particularly worth reading for getting an understanding of the structure of the “mythos”.

I am sure there are better people than me to fill you in on the comings and goings of the comics but the Golden Age to me is about mid 1985 to the early 90s. When there was a lot of layering to MC-1 and the crazies that lived there. I am not very keen on the mega-epics that started to leave MC-1 in ruins, the Apocalypse war, Necropolis, etc. They just felt a bit of a let down and a cop-out. I like the day to day stuff in the streets.
