I had a couple of small solo test games of Mortem et Gloriam and To the Strongest a couple of days back. I couldn’t really get a solid grasp of MEG and had a better experience with TTS. That’s not to say that MEG is a poor game just different and required, in my opinion, a bit more work on my behalf to understand the rules better.
I did a more detailed write up on my blog at: https://this28mmlife.blogspot.com/2020/09/tts-meg-test-games.html
Please have a read.
A nice review Ian. I like TtS but haven’t played for ages and MeG seems far too complicated for me. Any game that requires more than a two sided QRS has issues IMHO. I’ve enjoyed Neil Thomas’ Ancients 7 Medieval Wargames for the simplicity as I’m not really an Ancients player by heart.
Thank you for the reviews, especially for MEG.
