They have made their own 2d plastic figures and now they have started to transfer the paper miniature art from Peter Dennis to plastic  to.

July 10th they will be releasing his extensive WSS stuff.

I think I’ll give it a try. For the following reasons.

    1. Love the period.

    2. Love the rules I have for the period.

    3. I never do “big battalions ” but these will let me do 64 figure battalions in 18mm and 16 figure squadrons.

    4. I’ll never get a proper project for WSS for many years.

Oh that’s interesting, Henry Hyde is always talking about the paper flats.
Plastic seems a logical and good next step.

    Fascinating – plexiglass minis !

I indulged in the Peter Dennis paper figures book for the Jacobite Rebellion ( I ain’t painting tartan unless forced……), but got a bit dispirited thinking about trying to cut them all out with my fat fingers…. so the book remains as eye candy – which it most indubitably is – lovely stuff – so to see the same in actual 3D (2D)….. well, very tempting – I reckon I could probably manage to pop them from sprues without cutting off the ends of any fingers… would love to hear from anyone who has already taken the plunge, and what they think…

I am really tempted by the Wo Fun minis.

they look great en mass and would allow two opposing armies pretty much instantly for a new period without the usual several months of painting forces up slowly.

i don’t yet have anything painted for WSS but really like ‘beneath the lily banners’ so this looks perfect

I do like the cowboys and ACW but was baffled by the selection of 18mm rather than 15mm – maybe it’s me being old fashioned?

My first thought was they are not cheap but then I thought of the hours of painting or the cost of someone else ‘saving’ me that time. TBH I’m very attracted to them but the concern is that they are a niche product from one supplier in a niche hobby / market place and would hate to buy into the system at a small level and find in a few years that I cannot expand the army.

Andrew I wonder if 18mm was chosen as it is halfway between 15mm and 20mm, therefore you tempt the 15mm, 18mmm amd 20mm players.

    Do I buy these

    These

    Or there.

    These.

    #139557

I’ll go for the 18mm, as I think it will “hide” some of the more obvious tell tale signs they are 2d.

I don’t see any WSS on their site. Current or pending.

Is it hiding from me or is it mentioned elsewhere?

    #139567

As I said the WSS will be released July 10th.

If you look on their face book page there is pictures and information about WSS figures, you may have to scroll down a couple of pages.

Ah! Thanks Willz – don’t do Facebook, I was looking on the website.

Sorry Truls – I wondered how you knew as I couldn’t see it anywhere on the website- just wanted to see what they might look like.
