Not hugely successfully, as in a contest between dwarf lords to bring back the most loot from the lost holds of Moria, I have apparently chosen to fight a cave troll while my rival wanders through troves of treasure picking up the nicer bits.

Account from my opponent, the excellent Dan Foley here:

Account from the GM and owner of the spectacular Dwarven Forge scenery (worth more than my car) Matt Rector, here:

We are continuing the game next week, despite the fact that unless Dan gets himself killed (he’s already fallen down a pit and had goblins stepping on his head once already) I am doomed to be judged the lesser of dwarves. I’m absolutely fine with this, since the model is superb, and it’s not as if I really have aspirations in the field of leading short, bearded people (exactly like myself, but less cheerful) into battle with goblins. I have enough on my plate.

I do all my own stunts.

More on my disastrous career as a mighty chief among the dwarven clans. I did meet Gollum in the caverns of Moria, and seriously considered wringing his scrawny neck on principle, but the GM, Matt Rector, persuaded me that – not having read books yet to be written, and never having heard of the Bagginses – I’d just consider him a sort of hideous naked toddler. Anyway, two blog accounts here, from Matt and from Dan Foley, my rival in dwarvery.

Highly inspirational, Howard! I’ve never seen it in person, but the Dwarven Forge stuff does look lovely.
