Tinman,
Pretty cool man, and apparently great minds think alike:

And I was glad to see he survived, lest it render my world an anachronism 😉 Keep it going and maybe we can have a little cross-blog pollination, the Prequel, if you will 😉
Anyway, cool game, and inspiring on a couple notes. First, I’ve actually got some WWI US Marines and Germans lying around, painted, but unbased and unplayed with. Perhaps I need to fix that. And second, after reading your batreps, I actually picked up Squad Hammer last week, been chatting with Ivan on some bigger (higher echelon) games using it.
Looking forward to more.

Oh, Shiny !!!
Thanks guys!
Jack, great minds do think alike… I have been pondering a Brigade Commander / Squad Hammer mashup for the Cold War. With Hexes no less, at one 4″ hex = 1 km and 1 base = 1.5″ square = 1 company.
And get your WW1 on the table!
Squad Hammer is my new go to toolbox for playing just about anything.

Marines at Bellawoods in France Jack!!! You know you want too!!
Sounds cool, Tinman, and yeah, I can the versatility in Squad Hammer. And don’t get Leutnant Klink killed!
Yeah, John, I do want to play Belleau Wood (and others), that’s why I bought them. Pulled them out today and started my planning. Also played a bunch of modern skirmish games, working on the batreps.

Jack
Sounds good. I’m putting my French and Indians on hold while I build some M-41’s Leo 1’s and T-55’s for Team Yankee.
