Well it is not, but my daylight lamp has busted.

So I need a new one ASAP, I am guessing LEDs are the way to go now?
Anyone got one they can recommend from the UK, ideally on Amazon Prime?

Not wishing to derail your perfectly good thread – I have always wondered – why do people use daylight bulbs to paint?

do you do a lot of gaming outdoors? Me, I want my figures to look good under the flickering lights of a Community Centre, their natural environment!

I find they are brighter and photos taken under the light look better online.
    Less yellow and truer.

I’m with Mike, daylight bulbs are the biz. I’m still using 200w incandescent in my painting lamp, because I…acquired  a lot of them before they went extinct.

No recommendations, bit either get a cheap one with built in LEDs that you can sling when it fails (and it will), or something that takes E27 and bung one of these in it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hzsane-Incandescent-Equivalent-Daylight-Non-Dimmable/dp/B0793N68LV/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=e27+daylight+bulb&qid=1610110817&sr=8-8

Blimey that’s a bit pricey. Hope it lasts 🙂

Probably a bonus most of the time…

Nope, but I do a lot of gaming in daylight.  And consequently I use a daylight bulb so that I know the colours will be correct.  I’m guessing that all your miniatures have that ghastly sodium yellow look about them 😉

Plenty bright enough and no frequency flicker on the photos from my phone

I snapped my daylight lamp in half (thanks poor storage) and am now using this tiny bedside table lamp with a daylight bulb in it. I miss my old lamp. But looking at these, are LEDs really the way forward?

    LEDs are replacing all bulbs.
Less energy, less heat, same light, longer life…
